The Incredible, Edible Morel…

Ah, morels. Just saying the word brings a smile to my face. They are so delicious and only available for such a short time period. For those of you asking yourself, “what the heck is a morel?, I’m going to tell you. They are wild mushrooms that grow abundantly here in the Midwest United States. Here in NW Illinois you can usually start to find them the last part of April until the 3rd week of May, possibly later. Mostly they grow near dead elm trees, and if you find one just at the right time, it is possible to pick several pounds under one.

There are usually two types found-grays and yellows (see pics). The grays show up first, followed by the yellows. Grays are a little smaller than the yellows, usually about 4-5″ tall, however they can get quite a bit bigger. Yellows can get up to 8-10″ or larger.

Places in Chicago are buying these at upwards of $40/ lb…you can see them on eBay generally selling for about $20-$25/lb. Most of them are restaurants, but people that have tried these before and are not sure where to look for them will pay these prices.

I had a pretty good year, as I LOVE hunting them and eating them. However, when the season is over, I do go through a little stretch of depression…that’s why I freeze some, so I can enjoy them throughout the year, and scout some new spots for next year!

Week 13 And PLR Monthly

Well, here we are already at Week 13. Weeks up to week 12 had been pretty productive for me. However, I hit a little road block last week. I was running out of content for my book! I decided to go with the benefits of solar and wind energy, and just could not get enough content to be worth putting into a book by itself. So, I took a little look at PLR monthly, and lo and behold, there was a complete report about renewable energy on there! So, I decided to expand a little bit and do the book and all renewable energies. It’s looking quite a bit better now. Needless to say, I think PLR monthly is one awesome site. I saw a lot of other topics there that I would be interested in working with in the near future. Thanks for the quick response to my question, Daniel!

Week 11 & Product Development

Here we go! Week 11 is the start of product development. This is so cool! I am having lots of words circling around my head but can’t seem to get them to look right on the computer screen, cuz I’m so excited.  I am a little worried about someone actually finding it interesting, and wonder if there’s some others out there feeling the same. I’ll probably write and re-read it 100 times before I’m done. I know I couldn’t be in better company that I am, though. With John heading it up, and all the comments and support I’ve gotten so far, I feel really good.  Hope all is well with everyone else, and good luck too all!!

OK, So Spring Is Holding Off A Bit…

Well it seems like just a week ago, wait a minute, it was a week ago! I was saying it was looking like spring was here. Hummingbirds were getting closer, people were happy, masterclass training is kickin butt. All was right with the world. Then I woke up and remembered I live in Midwestern USA. As I type this, we are getting dumped on us by 4-8 inches of snow. Crazy! Just last Saturday it was 68 and sunny.

Oh well, good thing is that it is the end of March and sooner or later the nice weather will be here to stay. Another good thing is the fact that I will have more time to blog and work on my product development. It looks like that is going pretty good for most people, as far as I can read on the forum. Isn’t it so comforting to actually get the help you need down this path we’re all taking? I know I’ve mentioned this all before, but I am very excited about the changes that are taking place with this masterclass and how things are progressing. It is also so cool to see how things are getting better with everyone that is involved in the training also. Everybody hang in there and keep up the good work!

Spring Is Coming!

I live in Midwestern USA, and it is so comforting to see that it looks like spring is definitely on its way. We have been blessed with some beautiful, sunny 60+ degree days this past week. This time last year we were hip deep in snow with no end in sight. Everybody seems a bit more cheery when this weather comes around. One of the other things I am excited about is putting out my hummingbird feeder. I have been checking out the migration map on hummingbirds.net and can see they are on their way. These little guys are so cool, and so fun to watch. We get quite a few of them on the back side of the house where the sun shines the most, so I hang out the feeder on the back deck.  They are very funny to watch, as they are VERY territorial and like to chase each other away from the feeder. It gets pretty crazy when we get 3 or 4 at the feeder…you can get dizzy watching them flap their wings at up to 55 times per second! Hopefully perhaps I can get some pictures and upload them in the near future. Until then, happy spring!

I’m BAAACK!

Well, I know it’s been a while, but I finally back and posting. I’ve had some major computer problems…bad memory and had to reinstall windows. For those of you that have had to do this, you know what a painstaking task it is to get everything reinstalled and back to the way it was originally. I also have been putting some crazy hours in on my electrical contracting business which has been causing me to not get online much lately. I won’t sit here and complain about being too busy, as I know there are many people here in the U.S. and around the world out of a job right now and going through some tough times. I know in my heart things will turn around for the better, and people will once again not have so much fear built up about what’s going to happen tomorrow or the next day.

I have been reading the comments left by fellow Masterclass Members, and to all of you that left them, I sincerely say “Thank You!!” They are very uplifting and it shows how everyone of us are on the same page, and would like to see everyone succeed. I also would like to say I promise I will now get out and about and post comments on yours too.

Thanks for reading! Talk to you all soon!

Week 6 Upon Us

Is it just me, or does everybody else in the Masterclass cannot wait until Monday!! I absolutely love the training I’m going through and excited about what I’m learning every week. I feel the videos cannot be any better done and easy to understand.

The original email that we got from John when he announced he was doing this really hit home with me. I have been trying to earn an income online for a number of years now, and made a little here and a little there. Then some new email comes around with an idea, and I veer off course to try something new. It is so good to see that someone successful out there understands what I’m going through and is willing to put time aside to help.

Every Monday that comes around, I try to duck out of work a little early so I can get home and start going through the training : ).  I have been going through a lot of the other students’ blogs, and I am very impressed. They are all done very well, and I can see there has been a lot of time put into them.

It also has opened my eyes and shown me that I have to step it up a little, which I will be doing this week.

1000+ HP Grand National

The Grand National Experiment Continues

Ok, we last left off with me finding some more of that fun rust. Basically there was nothing to salvage out of the frame and body from this car. I gave Brian a call at http://gbodyparts.com/. I have dealt with him before getting some of those hard to find parts and some performance parts and he’s always been awesome.

I tell him the situation, and he lets me know it just so happens he’s getting a 1986 T Type rolling chassis (no engine or trans), it’s in great shape, and is a T TOP. I wanted a body with t tops again, because I love them, but they are sometimes hard to find. So, I end up buying the whole works for about $1200. Everything was looking sweet. However…

So, I pay for the car, and set up a shipping company to send the car from Ohio to Illinois. And I wait. And wait. I call the company, and they let me know they would be picking the car up the following week, which was 3 weeks after I set it up. I let Brian know, he says cool, and I wait for it to show up.

Brian calls me the following week, and says they never showed up. So, I call the shippers back, they say they had some problems with the truck, yada yada yada, make a long story short, I get the car 6 weeks after I bought it, and will continue this later.

Why Does Everything Cost So Much?!

OK, I’m gonna go on a little rant here (grab my soapbox). Whether it be going to the grocery store, going out to eat, or just paying bills, I am astonished how much it costs to live. I’m not talking spending a lot, going on trips, driving expensive cars…it costs so much just to exist!

I am an electrical contractor, and in this day and age, I have to also be price conscience when wiring new homes and such because people just do not want to spend as much as before. And believe me, I know how they’re feeling. But even most of the material nowadays costs so much that it’s hard to have a decent profit margin and still be in an area where people are comfortable with the price.

However, I have found a simple way to save part of your monthly income, and have been trying to get word out about it. It involves saving money on your monthly energy bills without having to dish out too much upfront money.

By now pretty much everybody knows about the growing popularity of solar and wind power. Mostly because of the reasons I spoke about earlier, but also because of people’s concern about the environment. A big problem with solar panels and wind turbines is the cost. It can cost $1000′s of dollars to get either of these professionally installed on any house. Most people (myself included) are reluctant  to  spend that kind of money in these uncertain times.

Now for the good news. I have stumbled upon a site that teaches you how to build your own solar panels and also how to build your own wind turbine! For less than $200, you could be well on your way to be saving lots of money on your upcoming energy bills!

What would you do with the money you’ll be saving? Plan a longer vacation? Put a little more away? Just feel a little more breathing room each month because you’re not always stretched to the max?

Whatever the reason may be, I would venture to guess it would be worth a look. Get some more info here.
