This post will be dedicated to the music that I know and love. I grew up in the ’80′s, so I immediately fell in love with a lot of the “Hair Bands”. Bands like Cinderella, Poison, Warrant, Motley Crue, Dokken and Def Leppard. However, I was also I huge fan of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Guns N Roses, etc. And, yes, I did have a mullet and IROC up until the time I was 19 in 1994…pathetic!

About 3 years ago my wife and I headed up to Cadott, Wisconsin for an event called Rockfest. It is basically a 4 day music festival consisting of mostly ’80′s era bands although there was newer bands like Papa Roach, Staind, and Kid Rock. My wife and I agreed it was one of the best trips we ever went on. We hauled a 20 ft camper up and “roughed it” for the 4 days. It was really hard to leave, cuz we had so much fun, and the people were so cool to be around. This year we’re hoping to hit another fest in Oklahoma known as “Rocklahoma”. Basically same type of bands, just a little more of ‘em. My cousin, who plays with a couple of bands in Chicago, will be there for the 3rd year in a row, and be on the main stage this year which should be awesome.

These days I am very into modern rock like Godsmack, Disturbed, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, etc. I still am a huge and faithful fan to my all time fave, Metallica, and actually just saw them again for the 9th time back in November. What an absolutely breathtaking and extraordinary experience it was. Those boys still have not missed a beat. But, I will admit, I have Hair Nation on XM tuned in most of the time. I will never get sick of that music, and it always takes me back to those times when it seems none of us knew what fashion was, and barber shops were out of work.
